This policy explains how information is handled when you browse GameClue, search for games and articles, view embedded media, or use our sharing tools. It describes the features currently available on our public website.
Browsing and technical information
You can read GameClue without creating a reader account. The public website currently has no reader registration, comments, newsletter subscriptions, or payment forms. You can contact us through the form described below.
Loading a website involves sending technical information to the services that deliver it. Our hosting, image delivery, and security providers may process your IP address, browser information, requested URLs, request times, and error information to serve pages, maintain reliability, and protect the service. Images hosted on other websites also involve requests to those websites.
Contact messages and privacy enquiries
When you submit our Contact form, we store the name, email address, optional website, and message you provide, together with the submission time, the privacy notice version, your acknowledgement, and whether the message has been read. We use this information to review your enquiry, respond where appropriate, and handle corrections, press enquiries, or privacy requests. We do not automatically subscribe you to marketing emails.
Messages are stored in our Supabase database and are accessible through the authenticated administration area, not through the public website. We use the email address to limit repeated submissions. Please do not include passwords, payment details, or other sensitive personal information.
You can use the Contact form to ask about a previous message or request its correction or deletion. Provide enough information to identify the submission; we may need to verify that the request relates to you before acting on it. Messages remain stored until we remove them; there is currently no automatic expiry schedule.
Searches and filters
Search terms and filters are included in page URLs so we can return relevant results. Those URLs may appear in your browser history and infrastructure request logs. Please avoid entering personal or sensitive information into the search box. We do not currently build reader profiles from searches.
Cookies and analytics
When analytics is enabled on this website, Google Analytics 4 loads automatically and uses cookies and collects information about visits, pages viewed, traffic sources, browser and device information, and interactions enabled in our analytics settings, such as outbound link clicks. Page URLs may include search terms and filters. We do not intentionally send contact form contents, names, or email addresses to Google Analytics.
We currently do not display an analytics consent prompt. You can use browser privacy controls, block analytics requests, or use Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on to limit analytics collection. Clearing cookies does not delete information already collected. We disable Google signals and advertising personalization in our tag configuration.
Google processes analytics data under its own policies. Third-party media and infrastructure providers may also use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies under their own policies. Embedded media and external websites have their own data practices.
YouTube videos and X posts
Articles may include YouTube players and X posts. These embeds can load automatically while you view a page, before you press play. Their providers may receive your IP address, browser and device information, and information about the page or embedded content. They may also associate activity with an account you are signed into, subject to their settings and policies.
Our YouTube players use the youtube-nocookie.com embed domain, and X embeds request the provider's do-not-track option. These settings do not make embeds anonymous or prevent all information from reaching the provider.
Sharing and external links
Facebook, X, and Reddit share buttons open the selected service with the article link and, where supported, its title. GameClue does not post to your account automatically or receive your social account credentials. The sharing service handles any sign-in and posting activity.
Copy link writes the article URL to your clipboard when you request it; it does not read your existing clipboard contents. Links to game stores, publishers, and other websites take you to services with their own privacy practices.
Storage and service providers
We use service providers to deliver website content and images and support site operation. Technical information may be processed in countries other than the one where you live. Processing locations and retention periods vary by service, record type, and provider settings. Third-party platforms determine retention for the information they collect themselves.
Your choices
You can use your browser settings to manage cookies and site storage, restrict third-party content, or clear browsing history. Blocking external media or scripts may stop videos and posts from loading. You can also review the privacy settings of any Google, X, Facebook, or Reddit account you use.
Updates to this policy
We will revise this page as the website's features and data practices change, including if we introduce analytics, advertising, reader accounts, or additional contact methods. The date above shows when this policy was last updated.
