If you have been sitting on a cabin-horror wishlist after Steam Next Fest, the clock just got loud: ESCAPE: The Cabin unlocks on PC via Steam on November 5, 2026 - roughly a day from now in most storefront timers.

Official release trailer from Deceptive Games

What kind of cabin horror this is

Deceptive Games Ltd., the South Wales studio behind The Initiate series and Silent Descent, frames the game as a first-person escape room with a narrative sting. You wake in a remote wooden cabin with locked doors, no clear path out, and a captor who seems to know your past. Searching drawers, inspecting and combining objects, cracking safes, repairing machines, and reading the environment are the toolkit for both escape and answers.

70+ puzzles that refuse to stay put

The commercial hook is replay, not a single static solution sheet. Studio materials and the Steam page put the full game above 70 puzzles, with clues, item placements, and solutions that can randomise between runs. Managing director and game director Gavin Powell put it bluntly in the October Games Press announcement: randomise the puzzles, clues, and solutions, and every run becomes a new escape room.

Randomise the puzzles, the clues and the solutions, and suddenly every run is a new escape room.

Demo window and launch checklist

That press note also pointed players at a free demo ahead of Steam Next Fest (October 19-26, 2026). The Steam store still surfaces a demo download button alongside the upcoming unlock; availability can shift by region, so treat the listing as the live check rather than a permanent guarantee.

  • PC Steam unlock: November 5, 2026 (storefront still marked upcoming as of November 4).
  • Genre pitch: first-person horror escape room with story-driven investigation.
  • Puzzle count: more than 70, with procedural/randomised clues and solutions per studio and Steam copy.
  • Studio: Deceptive Games Ltd. (developer and publisher).
  • Languages listed: English interface, full audio, and subtitles.
  • Price: not displayed on Steam at check time.

Platform scope for launch day is PC on Steam. English interface, audio, and subtitles are listed. System requirements call for Windows 10 64-bit at minimum, with about 5 GB of storage. Launch price was not shown on the storefront at the time of writing.

If randomised cabin puzzles sound like your kind of late-week fright, the Steam page is the place to wishlist, confirm demo status, and watch the unlock timer tick down to November 5.
